Core Rules 2.0

The AD&D Core Rules 2.0 (CR2) software is a near-indispensable tool for players & DM's alike. A vast improvement over the first Core Rules program, CR2 enables AD&D fans to create, update & print out characters using either the core AD&D system or the Player's Option system, generate maps using either of two powerful design tools, create encounters, input custom information, directly access nine essential AD&D rulebooks interactively, and more!

An expansion disk released in July '99 further improves the product, adding greater flexibility, new map object sets, the ability to create custom classes and more detailed kits, another 20 online books, and more!

Some people complain about various shortcomings the product has (most, if not all, of which are addressed by the expansion disk), but when you consider the price of all the included rulebooks separately, plus the fact that you're getting two very useful mapping programs (not to mention the main program itself), CR2 is worth every penny and then some! OK, enough with the sales pitch; I've been working on converting published TSR material, especially out-of-print works, to CR2 format. My first project is the

Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog

for the Forgotten Realms setting, an excellent collection of equipment for that world (and usable in any other as well). Future projects include conversion of material from Dragon Magazine as well as other sources; stay tuned!
